Looper.

Seriously, I can't even recognize Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
This movie looks great, yo.
I was going to make a giant master post regarding Gary Ross leaving the Hunger Games franchise, but I deemed this more important. There is a movie that's coming out called "Looper". Look at this BAMFing poster.

Looper. You can watch the trailer here since it's on Apple Trailers and I can't find a trailer on youtube.

I'm all for futuristic movies where things are kind of old school and instead of progressing we've regressed. Needless to say, it looks awesome. This is the reason I wish I could go to all the film festivals and see these movies ahead of time. Regardless, I'm looking forward to it. Comes out in September. I can barely recognize Joe Go Levitt in the trailer--half the time he was on the screen I wasn't sure that it was actually him and I had to do double takes! The synopsis provided on Apple Trailers goes as such:

In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented - but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a "looper" - a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) - is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good... until the day the mob decides to "close the loop," sending back Joe's future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.

SEE DOESN'T THAT SOUND AWESOME?! Yes. Yes it does.

Total Recall: first full-trailer.

This looks too AWESOME. It's like Minority Report but with Colin Farrell playing Tom Cruise's character and the snowsuits from Inception. Looks good. But you have to remember that I'm a crazy sci-fi/future junkie so of course it's gonna look awesome to me.

I'm just tired of movies doing this Inception bullshit where they release a trailer for the trailer using footage from the trailer. BRAAAAAAAAMMMMMMM.

I'm still on 24, yo.

I mean, I have eight seasons and a damn TV movie to get through and only about 5 hours a day to watch them, and that's not counting how much I need to sleep or eat or occasionally do other things with my life but I will eventually get through them. I'm also apparently not going in order, but due to my slight OCD I might end up having to go back and go in order ..... all over again ..... season 1, before Jack Bauer decided that he needed a buzzcut. I wish you all could see my eyes right now, I just narrowed them at the screen. I mean, the short hair is better. More badass. BUT I DIGRESS. I started with Season 3 and then went into Season 4 but I think I'll double back and go to Season 2 or season 1 even though I don't really care for those two seasons.

Though, this is like my favorite video. Ever.

But then I'll have to go through and watch seasons 3 and 4 again. WHY IS LIFE SO DIFFICULT AND UFLLL OF DECISIONS LIKE THIS. I HATE IT. UGH. But my friends and I have decided to rotate our TV shows in and out every week. The girls want the guys to start watching Supernatural, and the guys want us to start watching Doctor Who, so every week we're going to watch an episode of each, followed by an episode of 24.

Anyway, so there's a bunch of good films coming out soon. Well, not really "good", I'm sure we all know how I feel about the prequels to Star Wars (with the exception of episode III, they all SUCKED A BIG ONE), but regardless, my friends and I are stoked to go and see it on Friday. IN 3D. DUN DUN DUN. But I saw Chronicle last weekend and it was actually quite good. I'm not a big fan of the 'found footage' style of shooting movies but Chronicle surprised me. A good one to go see if you're really .... really bored and have nothing to do. I've wanted to go and see One For The Money for quite some time now but I saw in the reviews that it was actually really terrible ... abysmal, even, so I'm staying away from it for now, or at least until it gets to the really cheap theater (three dollas for a movie yo).

In the meantime, this weekend we're seeing Star Wars, as I mentioned, and I'm really looking forward to three more moves that are supposed to be coming out soon:
This Is War (Tom Hardy, Chris Fine Pine)
The Vow (Channing YumYum and Rachel McAdams)
Act of Valor (with active duty Navy Seals)
and I think that's all for the next few weeks .... at least, I can't think of anything off the top of my head right now.

Heard The Woman In Black was good.

Also, because you're all so lucky, you'll get to see a blog post of me liveblogging a particularly intense (INTENSEEEEE!!!!!111!1!!!!) episode of 24. I hope you enjoy it. That's coming soon.

OH. OH. OH. OH. BEFORE I GO. DID EVERYONE SEE THE AVENGERS TRAILER? I seriously think I cried a little bit when I saw it for the first time. The last scene.

For the record, we like a lot of movies that people tend to think are 'bad'.

By 'we' I mean me and the company that I usually keep, which consists of about five other people. We've started to gather in Chris's basement and record our reactions to movies. So far we've only done 'Rubber' (which was a trip and a half in and of itself since it's about a murderous tire) and Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (which I think we can all agree was not Lucas' greatest cinematic feat). But we do like a lot of other movies that people have written off as bad or even stupid. We don't look too deep into the acting or how shallow the plot may be. If we're entertained, we'll probably enjoy it. We thoroughly enjoyed 2011's 'Three Musketeers', however, we don't really get the 'science' behind movies like 'Darkest Hour' (so.... these aliens want our energy, I'm still not sure what kind of energy? but they're not drilling to the planet CORE, they're just looking for yummy minerals in the planet's surface. Right. Okay. Also the blonde girl in that movie? She's pretty and all, and she was a wee bit less annoying in Transformers, but GOD WAS SHE ANNOYING IN THAT MOVIE. Okay, I digress.) It can be very hit and miss. I'll upload the voice podcasts that we did of 'Rubber' and 'Star Wars: Episode I'. But occasionally I might have one of my friends come and join me on this adventure, on this blog, so we can liveblog a movie or something like that. We go to the movies when good movies are coming out (Liam Neeson? In a movie? I'll be there, regardless of what the movie's about.)

In addition, I am (kind of sort of yeah sure) going to school for video (even though the VCT program at BGSU is regrettably, kind of lame, but it's too late for me now), so from time to time you'll get my video projects (most likely with the five people I usually hang out with. I don't have much tolerance for anyone else). Right now we're working on a few miniseries of two different subjects. But we're still getting costumes and stuff for the second one so who knows when we'll get around to actually shooting this.

For now, that's all from the couch in space.

Go see 'The Grey' this weekend. It has Liam Neeson in it. But, if, for some unholy reason Liam Neeson being a badass isn't quite your cup of tea (I have to question if you're completely sane if that's the case), go see One For The Money. It's been in production for so long that the fact that it's finally getting released is a miracle. Plus, it looks good and Katherine Heigl is in it.

Time to go watch some Tron: Legacy.
